Choice and Clarity: Expanding Proof of Delivery in DirectAid Beta

Transparency in aid delivery holds significant importance for both service providers and donors alike. We're all familiar with scenarios where you come across a social media ad requesting donations. You donate what you can, and then... nothing; no updates, no clarity on where your contribution went or how it is utilized, leaving you clueless if your contribution made any impact at all.

Here at Aseel, we found the need and delivered the solution head-on.

Introducing the beta version of our decentralized aid delivery system: DirectAid beta, tested and used since September 2023. The DirectAid Beta not only ensures transparency in aid delivery but also to guarantees that your support reaches the right recipients, every time. But how, you might be asking? This is done by offering a video for each aid package sent through email sent to the donor soon after the completion of the aid delivery.

However, we didn't stop there. Following the launch of DirectAid beta, we received feedback from Atalan, highlighting either the beneficiaries, despite receving the aid, preferred to be filmed or not. Adhering to consent policy, we forwarded the videos of only those who accepted appearing on camera, making the process even convincing and ethical.

To further enhance the user experience, aid delivery process, and transparency within DirectAid beta, we conducted user interviews. Surprisingly, we discovered that while 50% of our customers embraced the video feature, the other half felt indifferent or even uncomfortable with it. Their trust in Aseel, established over years of use, coupled with direct communication with aid recipients, rendered the need for videos unnecessary.

Taking this feedback to heart, we embedded new alternate options to proof the aid delivery while retaining the video feature merely for those who valued it. Thus, we introduced the photo and document options, catering to the diverse preferences of our user base. The inclusion of a signed document specifically caters to our B2B clientele, providing a tangible record of aid delivery for institutional purposes.

Now, when you place an order for an aid package, you can choose your preferred proof of delivery: a video, a photo, a document, or none at all. And while you make that choice, consider tipping Aseel which not only supports us but also fuels our mission to continually enhance our product and deliver life-changing features to those in need.

Together, let's pave the way for a world where transparency, dignity, and compassion define every aid delivery, ensuring that every act of kindness makes a tangible difference in someone's life.
