Winter Update: Aseel's Humanitarian Support Reaches Vulnerable Street Children, Returnees, and Earthquake Victims 🤝

Winter in Afghanistan is very hard, especially for vulnerable communities struggling with displacement, poverty, and unstable economic conditions. However, amidst these challenges, Aseel Do Good  has been extending crucial humanitarian aid to those in need. Let's look into the recent efforts of Aseel Do Good in providing essential support during this winter season.

Through its DirectAid and other Campaigns, Aseel Do Good has been efficiently channeling humanitarian resources towards those in need. The numbers speak volumes about the scope and impact of their efforts. A raised amount of $25,526 converted into assistance for 165 families, covering 1,363 individuals, who received vital aid in the form of relief aid packages tailored to address their basic needs, including the Welcome Kit Cash Package, Life Package, and Emergency Food Package. In addition, cash assistance has been provided to 7 households, demonstrating the solidarity of donors and campaign organizers towards those neglected.

As the winter temperatures increase, Aseel Do Good has intensified its efforts to mitigate the harsh winter impact on vulnerable Afghan families. An amount of $10,639 has been utilized to address winter-related challenges. This funding has supported 119 families, comprising 965 individuals, with carefully curated packages including essentials such as food, child relief items, baby care supplies, wood for heating, and warm clothing. In addition, cash has been distributed to 5 households, enabling them to address basic needs.

“Our home is always damp and moldy. I can not afford a better place to rent for a living,” says Yasmeen, mother to five or six children who suffer from foot problems due to calcium deficiency and moldy house. Yasmeen adds, “Due to my kidney problem, I can not work to cover household expenses, so we rely on my children's daily earnings, who are below the age of 10.”

The Aseel Atalan team through the donations received from the donors successfully delivered the package to Yasmeen with an Omid ID [21677] to provide her with further assistance in future. “I am very thankful to the Aseel team for the help. My children had nothing to eat and were really in need of this help until I could find daily labor.”

In addition to its winter relief efforts, Aseel Do Good has helped around 484 vulnerable breadwinner street children. These children, being the sole breadwinner of their families with no proper income source are often forced to work, despite the harsh winter. Through various ways, Aseel Do Good is working to ensure their safety, well-being, and access to essential resources during this challenging season to at least feed their family for sometime.

Arrifullah, a street child, works tirelessly to support his family financially. "I'm the sole breadwinner for my family," he explains. "I sell cookies and various items priced at 80 or 90 AFN. It's not enough to cover all our expenses, but it helps.” Thanks to the generosity of donors, the Aseel Atalan team delivered a package to Arrifullah with an Omid ID [21705] , ensuring ongoing support for him in the future.
